When I photograph your family, my heart is set on capturing the little in-between moments—the cuddles, the giggles, the way your babies fit perfectly in your arms. Every session is relaxed, baby/child-led, and completely pressure-free. I’ll gently guide you with soft prompts and natural direction so nothing feels posed or forced… just real, beautiful connection.
I’m not a “say cheese” photographer. Instead, we’ll play, explore, snuggle, and let your family simply be together. Those are the moments you’ll want to remember forever—and those are the moments I love documenting most.

Every session with me is designed to feel calm, effortless, and genuinely enjoyable—whether we’re celebrating the sweetness of a growing belly, welcoming your newest little love, or documenting the beautiful chaos of family life. From the moment we begin planning, I walk with you through every detail. Personalized styling is included—and highly recommended—and for studio sessions, it’s required so we can create that soft, cohesive look my work is known for. You’ll also have full access to my curated client closet for moms, babies, and toddlers, filled with neutral, timeless pieces that photograph beautifully. During your session, I gently guide you with natural, connection-based posing, keeping everything relaxed, baby-led, and family-focused. Hair and makeup are highly encouraged, I’m happy to share trusted local artists who pair seamlessly with my style. Hair and make up can be completed onsite, one hour prior to your session at SlateStudio. Once your gallery is complete, you’ll receive all of your final hand-edited images in one beautiful, private online collection.
Outdoor sessions take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings- one hour prior to sunset. Studio sessions can take place during the weekday and select weekend dates.
A $200 non-refundable retainer fee is collected at the time of signing your contract to secure your date and is applied toward your chosen session.

Maternity
The maternity experience:
• Personalized styling is required, client closet is available for mom, children up to 5 and select tops for dads. Hair and make up is recommended but not required.
• A welcome/what to expect and style guide will be sent upon booking.
• These sessions take place 1 hour prior to sunset
• Recommended session takes place between 30-34 weeks expecting (please book 6 weeks in advance if possible, I can try and accommodate last minute bookings)
• All of the best images from your gallery are included: average 40-70 images
• Take an additional 10% off when bundling with the newborn experience

Newborn
The newborn experience:
• When booking your newborn session, please do so 6 weeks prior to your due date. Reach out to me and let me know your due date and I will put you on my calendar for that month. When baby comes, just let me know and we will get you in 7-10 days after their arrival! ( I can try to accommodate last minute newborn sessions, you can absolutely still inquire at any time!)
• Personalized styling is required, client closet is available for mom, baby, children up to 5 and select tops for dads. Hair and make up recommended.
• A welcome/what to expect and style guide will be sent upon booking.
• Up to 3 hours in my East Troy studio or in your home if lighting is suitable
• All of the best images from your gallery are included: average 40-70 images
• Take an additional 10% off when bundling with the newborn experience

The family & portrait experience:
• The family and portrait experience includes: Family, extended family (see pricing difference below), milestones, & couples sessions.

• A welcome/what to expect and style guide will be sent upon booking.
• These sessions take place 1 hour prior to sunset, please plan accordingly with timing of seasons.
• Please book 6 weeks in advance if possible, I can try and accommodate last minute bookings
• All of the best images from your gallery are included: average 40-70 images
• Extended family sessions are available for an additional $250 and up to 15 people. Please let me know if there are more than 15 people to your group and we can make accomodations.

Where are you based and are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?
I am based in Palmyra WI, but my studio, SlateStudio is located in East Troy WI. Travel expenses will apply to sessions that are over 30 miles from Palmyra, WI. Travel fees will be discussed with you upon booking and deciding on location. I have several locations that I recommend when booking to ensure minimal to no travel fees.
What is your style?

I’ll guide you softly throughout your session, helping you settle into natural movements, snuggles, and moments that unfold effortlessly. I’m drawn to the little details—the way your baby curls into your chest, the soft smiles, the quiet in-between moments—and I focus on creating images that feel warm, honest, and deeply meaningful.
What should I wear? Will you help with styling?
Yes! Absolutely. Styling is almost always required by me, especially for my studio as I strive to have a cohesive look to my work. My client closet is thoughtfully curated and available for browsing and borrowing. I’ve gathered a beautiful, intentional collection of pieces for moms, babies, and toddlers in soft, neutral tones that photograph effortlessly. Before your session, you’ll have the chance to look through the options, partake in a private fitting appointment at SlateStudio, and coordinate everything to create a cohesive, elevated look for your photos. This is why it is so important to book ahead of time to ensure plenty of time for styling! It plays a huge role in the outcome of your images!
I can't wait to see my images, when can I expect them back?
Yay! So happy you are excited! Typically my turn around time is 4-6 weeks but I tend to get your galleries back sooner than that. I like to give myself grace as life can get busy with two children, illnesses, unexpected events, homeschooling, etc. and I am only one person. I do my best to not make you wait!
